PRESENTING HIDDEN DATA WHERE AND WHEN IT'S MOST RELEVANT
Spend a day reading nutritional labels along supermarket aisles, and you'll know that the sugar epidemic is upon us. Yet, although that data can be found in front of our very noses, majority of consumers remain convinced that they don't consume a lot of sugar. Why? Because nutritional information is either too hidden or too complicated (15g per serving? 0.8g in every 100g?). The Hidden Sugar Receipt project targetted the human behaviour of shoppers inspecting their receipts at the checkout to warn them of the amount of hidden sugar they are bringing home. The data was also used to convert sales through the use of a scalable promotional mechanism - more sugar leads to more discounts.
