EXPLAINING WHAT A NATION IS
BY CALLING OUT WHAT IT IS NOT

Dealing with misperceptions is part and parcel of being a Singaporean. We've all had to deal with wonderful questions such as "Why are you able to speak such goodd English?" Or "Which part of China is Singapore in?" And, more recently, "Aren't you guys all Crazy Rich Asians?"

To really demonstrate how TikTok is front and center of the nation's culture, on National Day, we paid tribute to a situation most Singaporeans often found themselves in - To explain what Singapore is, you often had to first clarify what it is not. By filling the film with pointed insights, we were able to show that nation is none of the cliches. It truly is unique.
